This past weekend the 2017 CrossFit Games was held in Madison, Wisconsin for the very first time. With a new venue for spectators, vendors and athletes alike the excitement was in high supply.

Mat Fraser (Champlain Valley CrossFit), the 2016 champion continued his meteoric rise to the top with another absolutely dominate weekend. Finishing in first (again....) Mat Fraser stood at the top of the Men's podium by a whopping 210 point lead over the next closest competitor, Brent Fikowski (Canada).

The more dramatic competition was on the women's side with Tia-Clair Toomey with the narrowest of victories over her fellow country-woman Kara Webb, taking the top spot with a score of 994-992.

On the team side, Wasatch CrossFit has dethroned Rich Froning's CrossFit Mayhem as affiliate cup champions for 2017. This is the first time Rich Froning has not stood atop the podium in six years!
