MINA LEE

Coach

On the verge of turning 50, Mina is proof that it is never too late to get in shape.

Mina was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up in the DC area. She never considered herself very athletic and focused on art and design. After obtaining her BFA and MFA, she lived in New York City for fifteen years working as a graphic/textile designer in the fashion industry. While in New York, she discovered yoga and spent three years practicing Ashtanga yoga with Eddie Stern in New York and “Guruji” Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. Yoga led her to an interest in nutrition and health, so she also completed a holistic health training course with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC. When she moved back to Maryland she completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher training course at the Ashtanga Yoga Center in D.C.

After having their daughter Eva at a “later” age, Mina and her husband Mike decided that they had to get in shape and get healthier. Mike looked around for trainers and found Graham Harding. They both started personal training with Graham. This was Mina’s first introduction to weight training and conditioning at the age of 43. Three years training with Graham whipped Mina into shape and introduced her to some crazy workouts that she later discovered was Crossfit (sneaky Graham). She worked out at Crossfit Done Right for about a year then followed Graham to Crossfit Hard when he opened it in 2014.

Mina decided to get her Crossfit Level 1 to delve deeper into the sport and to show her daughter that learning, growing, and improving never stops--at any age. Mina has a particular passion for helping women (especially mothers) discover their inner athlete and to take the time for themselves to get stronger and healthier.
